Enjoying Top-Tier Lacrosse Art

Do you love lacrosse? Do you also love art? What about looking great while you're playing or watching lacrosse? If so, then you're in the right place.

Lacrosse is one of the oldest North American organized team sports, dating back to the early 17th century.  Plenty of changes have transformed lacrosse into a professionally played sport today, but it has a rich history under the surface. Artist and designer Jackson Hallman make art inspired by his love for past and present lacrosse.

Want to know more about Jackson Hallman and his art? Then, continue reading to learn about the different types of art and design that Jackson uses to create stunning lacrosse visuals.

Painting Player Portraits

With any sport, the players create the competition we love to see unfold on the field. For the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), Jackson made a series of portraits featuring six players. Each picture was created using Procreate on an iPad Pro.

The portraits feature some of the PLL’s biggest names, including Paul Rabil, Kyle Harrison, and Myles Jones. Using his artistic talents and passion for the present game, Jackson immortalized the stars of this emerging league in a permanent art form.

Lacrosse Social Media Designs

Jackson's artistic nature gives him an endless supply of subject matter, and his social media presence is a refreshing display of his progress. You can find Jackson's designs throughout the lacrosse world. He often creates topical posts featuring prominent storylines within the sport, such as the work he did for The Lacrosse Network during the 2020 PLL Championship Series. The designs use bold colors, typography, and graphic elements to visually display the game's emotions. These elements combine to create the energy you can feel through your screen.

Iconography for Clubs

One of the most underrated aspects of lacrosse is team branding. Jackson has created brand identities for lacrosse clubs such as Poseidon, Medusa, and Blue Collar. Each brand has a unique look specific to its approach to the game. Using his design and marketing knowledge, Jackson can capture the spirit of each lacrosse club in their team branding.

For example, the Blue Collar lacrosse club is a youth box lacrosse team in Frederick, Maryland. Jackson chose a pitbull to represent this team's hard-working, scrappy nature from an area not known for lacrosse. The design features sharp angles to highlight the aggressive nature of box lacrosse. In addition, a traditional wooden stick resides in the dog’s mouth to honor the game's history and represent the team’s value of the fundamentals.

In the Spirit of the Sport

As you can see, Jackson Hallman is inspired by his love for lacrosse. With his creations, Jackson fosters creativity and passion for the sport that could motivate others to participate.
