Looking to elevate your STX Fuse setup? This stringing recipe replaces the factory-installed Lock Pocket—known to bag out over time and become illegal for play—with a sleek, high-performance Armor Mesh Valkyrie Runner.
Why the Upgrade Was Requested
This stringing project was sparked by a customer whose factory Lock Pocket had stretched out over time, eventually rendering it non-compliant for play. While I’m a big fan of both the Lock Pocket and the Valkyrie Runner—each offering unique performance benefits—this upgrade was all about restoring reliability and legal playability.

To restore performance and legality, we swapped in a Valkyrie Runner for a tighter channel, better control, and long-term reliability.
STX Fuse Overview
The STX Fuse is engineered for elite offensive players. At just 284 grams unstrung, it’s among the lightest sticks available, ensuring quick hands and effortless movement.

Its composite handle, ergonomic octagonal shape, and built-in end cap offer premium feel and balanced control. With a price tag of $349.99, it earns its place as the most expensive women’s lacrosse stick—a serious investment for athletes who demand the best.

Stringing Instructions
- Attach Valkyrie Runner: Anchor the Valkyrie Runner to the scoop using a top string. Ensure it’s centered and taut to form a clean, symmetrical channel.
- Install Sidewalls: Use standard Carolina Blue sidewall strings to lace the sides of the head. Focus on symmetrical tension to frame the pocket structure.
- Add Bottom String: Secure the runner at the base of the head with your Carolina Blue bottom string to define pocket depth and shape.
- Weave Crosslace Through Runner: Using the 36″ Carolina Blue crosslace strands, weave through the sidewall holes and Valkyrie Runner loops to lock it into place. Keep tension consistent for control and feel.
- Install Shooting Strings: Weave in HT-style shooting strings in a straight or hybrid U-pattern. These enhance snap, reduce whip, and add a clean visual finish.
- Fine-Tune & Break: In Adjust channel tightness and pocket depth to preference. Break in the pocket with light wall ball or a mesh-molding ball for optimal game-ready feel.
