Elevate your women’s lacrosse pocket game with Stringers Shack HT Toplace. This tutorial unlocks the steps to using this innovative material as runners, empowering you to craft iconic pockets like the Gait Flex Mesh Replica and Maverik Hex Replica.
Materials Needed
Step 1: String the Top String
To kick off your pocket masterpiece, start by stringing a basic top string using only the two middle top string holes. Remember, both the middle and outside top string holes can serve as runner starting points, depending on the specific pocket style you’re aiming for.
- Thread the top string through the outside of the first hole on the sidewall.
- Insert the sidewall string through the back of the “scoop” (the small indentation) on the first middle top string hole.
- Wrap the sidewall string around the top string, then bring it back through the front of the scoop and through the loop you’ve created.
- Continue this process for the remaining top string holes.
- Once all holes are complete, tie off the sidewall string securely and trim any excess.
Step 2: Anchor the Women’s Runners
Now that we’ve completed the top string using only the two center top string holes, we’ll attach the outside runners. Because the outer top string holes on the StringKing Legend W are quite wide, we’ll utilize the middle top string holes instead to ensure a more secure fit.
- Thread the Stringers Shack HT Women’s Runner through the same sidewall hole that we used to begin our top string.
- Similar to how we started the top string, feed the runner through the back of the “scoop” on the first outside middle top string hole. Ensure that you wrap it around the top string as shown in image one.
- Bring the runner around the top string, then back through the front of the scoop and through the loop you’ve created.
- Continue this process for the other women’s runner on the opposite side.
Step 3: Tie Off and Cut the Runners
The final step in installing the Stringers Shack Women’s HT Runners is to securely tie off the ends, trim any excess string, and carefully melt (burn) the ends to prevent fraying. This will ensure a clean, snag-free finish and make it easier to string the rest of the pocket.
- Feed the ends of the runners through the outermost bottom string holes on each side of the head. Tie the ends together with a secure knot.
- Leave approximately 5 inches of excess string on each side, allowing for adjustments to the pocket depth later.
- Carefully melt (burn) the cut ends of the string to prevent them from fraying. Use caution to avoid burning yourself.
