Matt Oven

My name is Matt O. I have been a parent and/or coach for all 4 of my kids in lacrosse. I helped coach 8U girls’ lacrosse with my youngest daughter, I was the parent of my oldest daughter in 12U. I have helped coach boys 8U, helped where needed with boys 10U and coached 2 years of boys 12U.

Currently I have one child left in lacrosse who is going into his first year at 10U. I have seen the ups and downs of the game, the effect coaching has on players, teaching techniques, playing time, and skill development has played a role on players from each level I have been apart of.

My goal is to offer advice and some education on what to expect so parents are not going in to the sport blind sided by how things work. Important to remember that each level, there are added rules, bigger fields and more positions, there is always more to learn about the game.
