What We Look For
How Listings Work.
The directory is free and still a prototype. It isn’t an official certification. Applications are reviewed for the things that matter most when you hand someone your stick: craft, consistency, and communication.

FAQ
Common Questions.
Straight answers about what this directory is, and what it isn’t.
Is this an official certification?
No. There is no governing body for lacrosse stringing, and this isn’t one. It’s a free directory run by Stringers Society that helps players and parents find a stringer near them. Being listed means a stringer applied and was added, nothing more official than that.
Why are there so few stringers on the map?
It’s a prototype that was built in the last few months, and I haven’t promoted it. The map is thin because it’s new, not because it’s exclusive. If you string and want to be on it, apply here.
Does it cost anything?
No. Applying and being listed is free, and nobody is required to use it.
How does a listing help a stringer get customers?
Each stringer gets their own profile page. That page can show up in Google when parents search for a stringer in their area, and it appears on the map and in the directory. Players contact the stringer directly, with no middleman.
What do the stringing patterns have to do with it?
The pattern archive is a separate free library that documents stringing patterns by head, mesh and pocket depth. Listed stringers can post patterns there and get credit under their name. Patterns don’t affect local search ranking. The profile page does that.
How are stringers reviewed?
Applications are reviewed for craft, consistency and communication. Because the directory is a free prototype, there’s no formal exam or credential. Look at a stringer’s profile and work, and talk to them before you hand over your stick.
Can’t I just learn to string my own stick?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Our free stringing guides, tutorials and pattern library are there for exactly that. The directory is for players and parents who would rather hand the stick to someone good nearby.
