Single and Double Lacrosse Knot Tutorial

The two basic lacrosse knots you need to learn when you start stringing lacrosse sticks are singles and doubles. Almost every other lacrosse knot is built off of these two knots. This makes these lacrosse knots the perfect starting point for beginners.

Single and Double Knots

Single lacrosse knots attach one diamond between two knots to anchor the mesh to the head. The doubles anchor two diamond rows between two knots to create pocket space. People will use single lacrosse knots for the top part of the pocket to establish a channel. Stringers use doubles farther down to create depth for the ball to rest in. Both knots serve their own purpose and should be part of your arsenal. Upon learning how to string the single and double sidewall knots you should proceed to learn both the special interlock lacrosse knot and stacked special interlock lacrosse knot.

Single Lacrosse Knots or “1s”

• Before Starting: A single lacrosse knot it involves one mesh diamond being attached between two interlocks.
• Note About Step #1: Pretty simple step, just take your sidewall and go through the backside of the lacrosse mesh.
• Note About Step #2: Go through the outside of the lacrosse head then take your sidewall string back under the sidewall.
• Final Results: All you have to do now is pull tight and make sure the diamond hole is floating. If your diamond is caught up with the knot then retry because it will cause inconsistency.

Double Lacrosse Knots or “2s”

• Before Starting: A double lacrosse knot it involves two mesh diamonds being attached with two interlocks.
• Note About Step #1: This time take your sidewall and then go through the backside of the lacrosse mesh twice. (I don’t like to alternate sides of the mesh but some people do.)
• Note About Step #2: Go through the outside of the lacrosse head then take your sidewall string back under the sidewall.
• Final Results: All you have to do now is pull tight and make sure the diamond hole is floating. If your diamond is caught up with the knot then retry because it will cause inconsistency.
